Although Crown Heights made it through Hurricane Sandy relatively unscathed, many of the surrounding areas have been left devastated.
In response, many Crown Heights residents have come together to help. Donations are now being accepted at Wine by the Case at 511 Empire Blvd every day from 12 PM to 7 PM. Every day, early in the morning, volunteers will be driving the donations to areas in Brooklyn and the greater New York City area that are in need.
Items of need include:
Batteries
Food
Clothes
Lighters and matches
Diapers and wipes
Many families are going to be left without electricity for the next 7 to 10 days, making it even more important to help them as quickly as possible.

There is a displaced family of 7 who relocated to Crown Heights. Their home was destroyed, and they lost EVERYTHING, except the pajamas on their backs.
They have to leave Eishel by Wednesday (to make room for the shluchim who reserved, and need the rooms).
If you can provide food, clothing, or a place for them to stay please call Tema at 646-805-8518, or leave a message at Ahavas Chesed 718-221-2424. Tizku L’mitzvos
