Inspiring Shabbos in Golders Green

Heichal Menachem, the fast growing Lubavitch Shul in Golders Green, London, hosted Dayan Levi Yitzchok Raskin, Rov of the Lubavitch community in Stamford Hill for Shabbos Selichos.

The Chassidus shiur before Shachris was very well attended, due to the esteemed guest. The shiur was on a Rosh Hashana Maamar and led to many discussions in various areas of Chassidus.

Before Krias Hatorah, after reciting the Hayom Yom of the day, the Dayan delivered a hadran of the Rebbe on Maseches Rosh Hashana, centred around the recital of the pesukim during Mussaf of Rosh Hashana and the reasons behind the blowing of the Shofar.

The Farbrengen, which lasted almost four hours, was well attended by Anash and bochurim who walked over from the Yeshiva Gedola.

The Dayan concentrated on the idea of “Shabbos Selichos” and also touched upon our attitude to the internet asifos that were recently held worldwide.

The atmosphere of the Farbrengen was spiced up with the attendance of a surprise guests, Rabbi Shalom Adler, shliach to Clearwater, Florida.

The inspiration of Shabbos was still very alive as everyone sat down to a pre Selichos Farbrengen with Rabbi Zalman Lewis, Campus Shliach in Brighton, who told stories of his shlichus and brought home the idea that we must inspire ourselves in order to inspire our wives and children.

Selichos was led by the world famous chazzan, Reb Hershel Gorman.
