The legend lives on.
A new children’s book was published in celebration of the life and work of Rabbi Yosef Goldstein, the educator and master storyteller most commonly known as “Uncle Yossi,” who passed away last month.
“Uncle Yossi’s Big Book of Stories” was released by the Jewish Learning Group, publisher of Jewish books and educational material and founded by his son, Rabbi Zalman Goldstein of Monsey, NY.
“As the youngest of his 10 children, I feel very grateful for having merited the opportunity to observe my father practice his craft throughout my childhood years,” said Zalman, who has also published individual single story art-book editions of his father’s stories in the past.
Containing over two dozen carefully selected tales transcribed from the unforgettable recordings of “Story-Time With Uncle Yossi,” the beautifully designed 200-page children’s reader brings many of Uncle Yossi’s classic stories to life.
Drawn from the midrash, Talmud, and Jewish lore, these cherished stories instill a love of Hashem, love of the Torah, and love of the Jewish people, planting the seeds for fine character development and personal refinement.
A legend amongst youngsters, Rabbi Yosef Goldstein has inspired generations of children through his stories and songs conveyed in a wholesome and captivating manner, teaching the eternal ethics and morals of our people and heritage.
For over 40 years, Uncle Yossi has been a household name in Jewish homes around the world. From the first release of what was to become an ongoing series, his recordings were eagerly welcomed in homes across the globe.
“It is a great privilege and honor for me and our family to be able to share our father’s wisdom with the world,” Zalman Goldstein said.
“I have no doubt that this collection of his iconic stories will become a classic in Jewish homes, schools, and libraries around the world, perpetuating his legacy of blending enjoyable entertainment with wholesome Jewish education for people from all walks of life.”
The new book is available at major Jewish bookstore and online at UncleYossi.com

Zalman is a class act!
As a classmate of one of the Goldstein brothers, having spent many shabbosim and weekdays in their home I can attest to the talent that filled their home. Zalman has inherited the best parts from all his siblings and it shows in his continuous output. Amazing what little Shnuky absorbed and made from his talent. Go Zalman! Your father lives on through you. He is certainly shepping nachas from above.
