First time I'm listening
January 20, 2010 1:31 pm

For the first time (after hearing much ado) I’ve started keeping track of jewishstar.com I firmly believe Rabbi B from NJ will win. My opinion – voters ages 30 and up will vote for ABLESOFSKY and voters under 30 will vote for BSBLESOFSKY

not surprised
January 20, 2010 12:14 pm

Avremal, you don’t surprise me. Just as good as I remember you in Yeshiva.

How about a duet performance by A and BS – now I bet that would take the cake, hands down, no doubt!

January 20, 2010 4:46 am

You got it right. This guy and Choni Grunblatt have it. They are the two that you can just play their video and have the biggest joy and peace with their voices again and again and yet again and still love it every time more. Good luck to both.

wow
January 20, 2010 1:09 am

you are the best you relly have
a good voice we all love u

Avraham Shabsie HaKohen Friedman. His in-laws (the Krasnjanskis) live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When the Friedmans visit Philadelphia for yomtov, the Lubavitcher Center (Rabbi Avraham Shemtov’s shul) has the honor of having “Avraham Fried” and his sons “duchen” for the oilam.

Impressed
January 19, 2010 5:28 pm

As a recording studio technician I hear many different vocalists all the just a bout every day. I must say this one is one of high quality, very professional classical sounding but the popular style warmth is there as well (probably a Spinto Tenor).

I collect all Chanukah recordings I can get my hands on (it’a long story) I’ve heard bad-so so-good-very good superb and this niggun is the best I’ve heard so far and this guy sings quite well.
There was a chazan in Riverdale with the same last name, are they related ?

This guy is REAL!
January 19, 2010 1:09 pm

Finally, an authentic, original lubavitcher nigun recorded beautifully with originality. Thank you.

Amazing that in one family, a beautiful talent KA”H, someon told me that the Blesofskys are baalei neginah. HERE It is, truly clearlly, unreal. Keep it up. BS’s got one style and AVremul another. Not sure which one i like better? THeir both good just different types of songs i guess. Go BS and Avremul Hakohanim Belosofsky.

nice !!!
January 19, 2010 10:53 am

Terrific Audition
January 19, 2010 10:23 am

I actually like this one best. In my opinion it’s between this guy and Grunblatt.

Yes, it’s a Chabad song that was popular in Nikolayev. This niggun can be found on the Lubavitch Nigunim double CD by R’ Shmuel Betzalel Althaus. Judging by Avremel’s taam in singing this nigun, that’s where he heard it as well. He does a great job keeping the authentic taam of R’ S.B.A. even amidst the twists and the modification of the nigun (added bridges). You can find the above mentioned CD at http://www.kehot.com search keyword “althaus”.
