Q: Are we allowed to feed a child meat during the Nine Days?
A: Until the age of 6 – yes. After that, it is permissible if there is a need to strengthen the child’s health.
Q: Is arts and crafts in a children’s camp allowed?
A: Anything connected to sewing, done to keep children occupied, is permitted during the Nine Days until the week of Tisha B’Av, so long as the work will be completed after the Nine Days.
Q: Are we allowed to go to a restaurant or coffee shop?
A: Going to a restaurant for entertainment (“hanging out”) is forbidden during the Nine Days. If the purpose is to eat and drink or a business meeting – it is permitted.
Q: Am I allowed to sign a work contract during the Nine Days?
A: If it’s for one’s livelihood – yes.
Q: How about drinking alcoholic beverages?
A: The prohibition of drinking wine is said about wine and drinks that include wine. Other beverages containing alcohol are not prohibited on principle.
Q: Is a Jewish tailor allowed to work in the Nine Days?
A: If that is his livelihood – yes. It is forbidden for him to sell Jewish people new clothing.
Q: Can we give the tailor clothes for repairing?
A: Clothes that were already worn can be given for repair – but not if the work will make a change to its structure.

Yep… I was wondering the same thing… and there are many similar questions…
But… I guess the answer is that they will make their living from the “business meetings” that happen then…
If something is a metziah that you cant get afterwards you may buy it but you may not wear it. I dont know if Lubavitch are stricter than this cos I looked it up in regular book.
are we allowed to go shopping during the 9 days? can we wear clothes for the first time that we bought before the 9 days?

Your reasoning is so absurd it’s not worth arguing.
The highest form of tzedakah is to give someone a job. So by going to a Jewish restaurant, you are providing a Jew a livelihood and increasing in ahavas Yisrael. So shouldn’t one be allowed to go to a restaurant?

what’s the source for the age of 6. I’ve heard of 3, 9, and bar or bas mitzvah but 6?
he didnt say theres something wrong with drinking coffee! Theres just something wrong with going to a restaurant for entertainment!
