Maybe attend this meeting and voice your thoughts on how to make Crown Heights a safe neighborhood.

451 Kingston is a stain on the neighborhood
November 10, 2024 3:53 pm

Can the chief let the community know how many times did the police respond to 451 Kingston in the past 12 months for crime?

Its likely in the hundreds

It’s time to make sure your buildings are not filled with people who are a danger to your own!!!

How much new money has the new board raised.
Have the Rabbonim been paid all their salary entitlements, past and present.
Will a statement of accounts be presented to the community at the meeting?

There is a much to be accomplished by the board

Without money people cannot be helped.
The Rabbonim cannot receive the money they are owed and cannot receive their salaries on time.

Give them a minute please

But……one of the only ways to get your opinion re the bike lanes for City Bike Parking is to contact your NYC Council Member https://council.nyc.gov/districts/ If you want to write an email to the DOT Brooklyn Borough Commissioner follow this link https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/contact/contact-form.shtml If you want to voice your concern about Citi Bike go to this link https://council.nyc.gov/districts/ to find your City Council member and call or write and tell them you are a constituent and do not want anymore bike lanes or City Bike parking at such and such a location. You can email, call and or write a letter.… Read more »

I attended the meeting for a while and the issue of bike lanes came up and was dismissed by The Board. There will be a CB 9 , 890 Nostrand Ave meeting on the bike lanes, this Wednesday, November 13, 2024 7:00 PM ,

The issue was addressed; Unfortunately it is not simple as Citi Bike was given the contracts and they are not a City Agency. I commented in a reply how to make your voice heard

The CB 9 Board is with you.

News Flash: A mostly Black Community Board 9 is not going to vote in bike lanes for yuppies – full stop. It didn’t happen 2 mos ago when the board rejected this drech and it’s not going to happen again after these “Feedback” Sessions. If the CHJCC does not want to write a letter to the Mayor and the local city council members, then they don’t have to. Just you show up and tell them to put the bike lanes in the yuppy neighborhoods where they want them The bike lanes are not based upon accident data – its just… Read more »

All they’re talking about is the bike lane, what about the people in our community being hurt? I was just in the pizza shop where a homeless guy came in, and asked for money and then just screeched for no reason, and the cashier watched the whole thing happen, why didn’t she call police?

Very little knowledge of the issues.
Running away from the issues.
Looking to avoid conflicts.

Why isn’t the CHJCC writing letters of objection and complaints to elected officials voicing the concerns of the Yidden?

At least Trump won.

It takes a village

The moderator said, these agencies, elected officials need to hear from several dozen people before they will think about changing their policy. They are a team of 6. Call, write and email your elected official ie your NYC Council Member https://council.nyc.gov/districts/
Numbers make a huge difference.

As an outsider, I think there’s a lot of confusion by citizens about whom to address their issues to.

Community council has a specific purpose, but it surely is not your one stop shop for every and all grievances in life.

There is need for more awareness about who is responsible for what. If people will lay every issue at the feet of the council, they will simply be swamped.

People need to know where to address concerns to. And what the purpose of the council is, and where they can help.

Fair Districting is the #1 issue to work on
November 11, 2024 12:28 am

Jewish Crown Heights is a large area where there is a significant majority of Jews. Who have not had representation since the 60s. Our districting has been intentionally corrupted by being divided into many districts not one of which has us as a majority. It will take meetings with senators and maybe the president. We need to get our Jewish district back so that we can finally have one of our own -very carefully chosen – to represent us.
