A first-time 60-year-old mother and her newborn daughter are healthy after an emergency cesarean delivery on Tuesday morning at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.
The mother, who wished to remain anonymous, was rushed to the hospital with preeclampsia, a condition that can potentially harm both mother and baby. It took a medical team including two gynecologists, two pediatricians, a midwife and three nurses an hour to deliver her 2.2-kilogram (4.85-pound) daughter, the hospital said.
The woman, who had undergone many years of fertility treatments, thanked the medical staff.
“As I arrived in the operating room a large medical team was waiting for me,” she said. “They calmed me down. Everyone was smiling. The greatest happiness in my life was when the team showed me my daughter. I have waited so many years for her.”
Although this woman was the oldest to give birth in Kaplan Medical Center, the oldest ever to give birth in Israel was Haya Shahar, a 65-year-old Hasidic woman from Bnei Brak.
Beautiful!!!!
Whoopee! Yea! Only Simchas & Nachas Ab Bli Di, Mazeltov, Moshiach Times!
i cant stand it when people judge others for having a child. this lady has a daughter and another jew has come to the world. Sara Emanu was very old and she had Issac and we are all here because of this. So Gd bless this baby and her parents, Hashem brings life and this child is a life given to the parents via Hashem. Back off the judgment, sour pusses.

To two words, your NOT an RE OR an infertility Rav so stop the judgment. Each live birth is a miracle Your way of thinking takes Hashem out of the picture. For anyone who has had multiple miscarriages or a stillbirth is VERY grateful for each and every child Hashem brings her. The vileness in your comment leads me to believe that you never experienced neither or has any infertility issues all together. If you can’t wish a couple a maz tov then keep your mouth closed. And quite frankly its NO ONES business how a couple brought their children… Read more »

Many women undergoing fertility treatments end up freezing their eggs and can then use them at a later point in time. It’s absolutely none of anybody’s business. Our job as fellow Yidden is to be happy for them and wish mazel tov!
May we cont5to share good news!
Hope u get lots of nachas!
May we cont5to share good news!
Hashem gave this family a beautiful, healthy child. Imagine their joy after so many years of waiting. He will surely give them the ability to raise this precious little girl.
may they enjoy their gift for a long time mazel tov
Baruch HaShem, Nothing is impossible to Gd!
Moshiach time!
Mazal Tov eem kol toov!
Donor eggs. Donor eggs make this kind of thing possible. Its hardly a miracle – people do it every day. The question is – is it ethical and halachically acceptable. Would the Rebbe approve of these kinds of procedures?
Near geriatric women becoming mother’s will soon become fairly commonplace. Sooner, rather than later, the whole conception, growth and birth will be achieved in a laboratory, especially for women who have no wombs.
BH so precious and beautiful! Gezund and Nachas!!
mezel tov!! tegadlah lechupah ulmaasim tovim.
If you don’t like this story, then move on. Don’t judge people for the decisions they make for their family. Nobody should ever know the agony these people must have gone through in their years of infertility. May they enjoy many healthy, happy and wonderful years as a family, and see much nachas.
I hope there is a lot of extended family who will be able to look after and raise this child.
Moshiach zol shoyn kumen.
One step closer to Moshiach !
