The Oholei Torah Mesivta in Crown Heights had two special learning projects that ran through the entire year, in addition to the ongoing shiurim.
This year’s mesechta learned in Yeshiva was mesachta Shabbos, and as in previous years, bochurim were tested on 156 pages Ba’al Peh of the mesachta.
A booklet was prepared at the beginning of the year, which was signed by the various roshei yeshivas after being tested.
At the end of the Year, the bochurim went to Rabbi Gavriel Zinner in Boro Park, where he tested the group of 17 boys who excelled in this project. Joining them were Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm, Dean, Rabbi Sholom Geisinsky and Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm.
The participants were: Shaya Naparstek, Menachem Mendel Lepkivker, Moshe Aharon Butman, Tzvi Yisroel Yoel Cohen, Chaim Kozliner, Yisroel Wilhelm, Shmuel Gurary, Tzvi Hirsch Morozow, Levi Parnas, Levi Mintz, Moshe Tauber, Dovid Junik, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, Mendy Sorkin, Dovid Geisinsky, Zussy Oster and Mendy Baron.
The winners of the project received a certificate upon completion and a monetary prize for each daf learned.
Unique to this year was the 200th year of the Alter Rebbe histalkus, and the Mesivta learned hilchos shabbos in the Alter Rebbe’s honor. 18 bochurim received a grade higher than 85% came together to be tested by Kfar Chabad Rabbi Mordechai Ashkenazi.
In total the bochurim learnt 770 chapters of the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Orach. Rabbi Wilhem sponsored prizes for these bochurim totaling well over 5,000 of seforim.

These ongoing learning projects that took place this year gave a chayos and special spirit thought the entire Mesivta year.
