300 guests enjoyed a summer soiree in Brooklyn benefiting the Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe organization which assists Chabad Shluchim who are raising children with special needs.
A lively and elegant atmosphere coupled with delicious off-the-grill BBQ menu and an exquisite bar was on hand for supporters of Yaldei during its annual and popular “BBQ in Brooklyn” fundraiser.
Founded 7 years ago, Yaldei works year-round to support these families with a multitude of varying services and programs that would be otherwise unavailable to them living outside of established frum Jewish communities.
The BBQ served as an opportunity to not only bring people together for an evening of fun, but also to showcase and share the message of Yaldei with many who were not aware of the incredible work the organization does for Shluchim.
One such Shliach was Rabbi Chaim Shaul Bruk of Montana, who was honored during the evening and thanked the organization for their tireless support to the growing number of Shluchim navigating the challenges of raising a child with special needs.
Rabbi Bruk shared his family’s story as they journeyed through the challenges of infertility, adoption and raising a daughter with special needs, and the gratitude he feels towards Yaldei for the unwavering support they have shown him.
A highlight of the event was the speech given by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch under which Yaldei operates. He shared his personal feelings about Yaldei and the intricate detail with which they care for their families.
The guests were entertained by an outstanding performance by world-renowned singer and songwriter Abie Rotenberg, accompanied by Eli Schwebel and a guest appearance by Rivi Schwebel.
