What do you get when three rabbis and a self-described “Chassidic feminist” share the stage? Some pretty frank and entertaining discussions.
The candid cross-panel discussion took place at last year’s National Jewish Retreat in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It featured the wit and wisdom of Rabbi Chaim Mentz, Rabbi Abba Perelmuter, Rabbi Chaim Block and Rebbetzin Rivkah Slonim as they answered former NBC News producer Molly Resnick’s hard-hitting questions. Questions like how long does a Chassidic marriage usually last, does G-d really care if a woman covers her elbows and why are so many people unhappy?
With Rabbi Chaim Mentz, Rabbi Abba Perelmuter, Rabbi Chaim Block and Mrs. Rivkah Slonim.
Moderated by Mrs. Molly Resnick
The National Jewish Retreat is Aug. 6. For more information please visit JRetreat.com
instead of having the bell going off.
and Mrs. Molly Resnick as a former TV presenter should be able to improvise………………….
This is the most inspiring video, one of my dreams for many years to go to the retreat, how wonderful it would be. I”YH one day. Amazing panel of human beings 🙂
just watched it for an hour. You can tel thee Rabbis are experienced
Why don’t they add time for each answer? I think it could still be entertaining and to the point if they added a minute or two.
I’m assuming Mrs. Resnik is just following someone elses rules.
has a true combination of gashmius and ruchnius. She has a strong unwavering commitment to yiddishkeit and is very openminded.. the amount of knowledge she has ……. could put many ‘rabbis’ to shame. Yes the Rebbe wanted women to be knowledgable and learned. So if you have a thirst of knowledge why waste it on chochmos hachitzonious /college? Our torah has so much to offer. This is what I learned from her for the one week she taught me in the israel womens learning program. Her impression remains.
On the contrary – 1 woman is equal to 3 men. Now that’s feminist!
Mrs. Slonim, kudos to you.
Thanks for sharing! I couldn’t stop listening….
No one like Mrs. Slonim
Questions were thought provoking and answers were very sincere. Thanks for posting this!!
great job rabbis
Best shliach in CA!!!!
Perlmutter and Mentz!
there would have been 2 women, and 2 men up there.
But it’s a start!
