The atmosphere was electric, charged with joy, unity and accomplishment as many guests came to rejoice with the newly ordained rabbis of Kollel Tiferes Menachem in Los Angeles, California.
Arriving from all across the States, parents and relatives came to radiate with pride as their sons reached this momentous milestone and to celebrate a gala Chag HaSmicha ceremony.
This year at the Kollel has been an especially fulfilling one. In-depth study of halacha with regular shiurim from Rosh HaKollel Rabbi Dovid Schmukler was accompanied by Chassidus, with shiurim from Rabbi Tzvi Freeman and Rabbi Dovid Schmukler.
The curriculum was augmented by a class on public speaking with Shliach and lecturer Rabbi Moshe Bryski and a revolutionary course on dating and marriage with renowned teacher Rabbi Manis Friedman.
Rabbi Dovid Schochet, President of the Toronto Rabbinical Council and Rabbi Boruch Hertz, Rav of Lubavitch in Chicago both tested the bochurim. As one parent heartily expressed, “What they get here, they can’t get anywhere else. Thank you so much!’
Newly-ordained Rabbi Dovid Lew served as master of ceremonies, a video presentation of the Rebbe, reminding us never to be satisfied with our past accomplishments, set the tone for the evening.
Among the speakers to address the crowd were Rabbi Shlomo Cunin – Head Shliach to the West Coast, Rabbi Ezra Schochet – Rosh Yeshiva Ohr Elchonon Chabad, Rabbi Hertz and ordaining rabbi, Rabbi Schmukler and Rabbi Bryski, a proud parent.
A video presentation featuring the students from Kollel Tiferes Menachem gave the audience a glimpse into the nature of the bochurim’s regimen and achievements.
Newly ordained Rabbi Shraga Telsner addressed the crowd, delivering an impressive Dvar Torah and expressing gratitude for an exceptional year. Participants left with an uplifting sense of warmth and inspiration.
