For 28 hours, until Thursday, December 22 at 5:00pm (EST) the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies will be running a $2,500,000 matching funds campaign to benefit the renovation of the new Mayanot World Center in Central Jerusalem.
“Today we are coming to you, those who have helped us get to where we are, to take us to the next step” said Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov, Executive Director of Mayanot. “We know you care and your support of today’s #LetsBuildIt campaign will get us there.”
Every dollar donated is quadrupled to support Mayanot. Additionally, any fees that this campaign incurs are being covered by a private donor so 100% of your gift goes to Mayanot.
With expansion of post-Birthright opportunities for students experiencing Mayanot’s Birthright Israel trips, the launch of the Post High School Gap Year Program and the renewed popularity of the mid summer and winter programs, Mayanot continues to build and inspire. The new facilities, will offer expanded programming, welcoming thousands of more students to experience Israel and authentic Yiddishkeit.
In addition to the study hall and lecture rooms, the new Mayanot World Center will host a state-of-the-art lounge and center for Israel Lone Soldiers. The center will allow lone soldiers to rest, grab a bite, do laundry and drop in for a minute, hour, day or week of inspiration and Torah.
Another addition to Mayanot will be partnerships with Shluchim worldwide bringing groups to the center of the Jewish World. With lodging, modern kitchen and dining amenities, and ample space for groups, “This will usher in a whole new era of Chabad spiritual tourism in the Holy Land,” said Director Shlomo Gestetner.
“I came on Mayanot Birthright when I was 19 years old and I’ve been building my Jewish identity ever since,” said Dayna Driscoll, an alumna of both Mayanot’s Birthright Israel program and the Mayanot Women’s Program. “I think that’s the best gift I’ve ever been given.
For the thousands of people just like Dayna that have visited Mayanot over the last two decades Mayanot is more than just a memory in time. Mayanot is a family.
You can help build that family. Support Mayanot today.
