A new group of Israeli Talmidim-Shluchim will be spending the upcoming school year as Shluchim helping younger bochurim in Chabad Yeshivos around the world, which the Rebbe established and encouraged.
Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, which cares for the needs of bochurim around the world throughout the year, held a 2-day preparation for many of the bochurim, to prepare them for the task.
The Yom Iyun began on Sunday at the FREE shul in Crown Heights, where Rabbi Shlomo Sternberg, Mashpia at Yeshiva Chovevei Torah Tomchei Tmimim, spoke on the role of the shliach as they relate to the Yeshiva’s hanhala and students, and the conduct of the shliach during the year. Later Rabbi Sternberg also gave practical tools for success in the shlichus.
In the evening, a full dinner and a Chassidishe Farbrengen was held with Rabbi Shloma Zarchi, Mashpia at the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch – 770 Eastern Parkway. Rabbi Zarchi told of the great importance of the bochurim Shluchim and the special attention the Rebbe gave them over the years.
On Monday morning, after Davening Shacharis, the bochurim traveled together to the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens where after proper preparation, they signed a joint ‘pan’ and davened for success in their Shlichus and for the coming of Moshiach even before they depart to their Shlichus locations.
They then visited the Rebbe’s Ohel, and Rabbi Zarchi read the Pan Kloli, in the day’s emotional highlight.
Finally, they returned to Crown Heights for a group photo with Rabbi Zarchi and were joined by Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, the Rebbe’s Secretary and Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch.
The entire 2 day event was organized by Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim.
