2 men were apprehended by Crown Heights Shmira and the NYPD after attempting to force their way into a Crown Heights home on Sunday afternoon while armed with knives.
At approximately 1:30PM, the 2 men began to repeatedly attempt to break down the front door as one of the men was brandishing a large knife.
One of the men then climbed onto the front porch and smashed the glass of the porch sliding doors. B”H, the grids remained intact and they left the scene.
A neighbor who witnessed the attempted burglary immediately called the Shmira hotline. When the volunteers arrived at the scene, they began to search for the suspects and notified the NYPD.
A short while later, a responding Shmira volunteer spotted one of the perpetrators and was able to follow him to a basement where the perpetrator barricaded himself inside.
Shortly after, the NYPD’s emergency service unit arrived and took the suspect into custody without any incident.
The 2nd suspect was arrested a few hours later.
The incident was captured on surveillance footage.

I may be wrong, but these 2 thieves look like illegal aliens from South america that our wonderful Mayor is nicely housing hundred of illegal aliens in CH between two City/State run Armory Shelters in our neighborhood (being paid by our tax dollars) by the Armory Homeless Shelter by Atlantic/Bedford in North CH or the Armory by Albany/Clarkson in South CH.

Nope. He’s probably correct. Let’s face it, most violent crimes in Crown Heights were committed by blacks. This is a new phenomenon and the influx of illegal immigrants from South Americans may cause more problems G-d forbid if something isn’t done.

I frequently wonder, when I see people renovating their homes, why they don’t install typical security measures (e.g. gates on windows, at least on the ground floor; solid front doors- w/o glass). Do people think society is so secure? Do they lock their door, or do they leave the doors unlocked like my parents did when I was child growing up in the Midwest?

So the police arrested them? Big deal. They took them to the police station and then the judge let them go without bail since this is not considered a serious crime. .
this could have ended way differently and terribly. there have been such things that did end horrifically in CH. forced entry, two men, armed. so grateful that other people alerted and acted and stopped them.
who were they talking to in the video? someone must have been watching them and talking to them while they were doing this. and yet they continued to do their thing.
Looks more like attempted murder. I hope community activists will take this investigation further. This noisy and openly armed home invasion in broad daylight by entitled and enabled criminals waving weapons makes things very clear.

Crimes against our community continue because there is no oversight so the police can release the criminals before even booking them. All of our community leaders who have any connections with govt or media should be leaving no stone unturned to see that these wild beasts should pay to the fullest degree of the law and are not on the streets endangering the public.
