Over 1,000 men, women and children gathered for a recent event marking the year of Hakhel in Montreal, Canada.
The event took place in the Chabad Center in Cote S. Luc, and was organized by Rabbi Dovid Cohen.
The guest speaker for the event was Rabbi Eliezer Gurkov, Shliach in London, Ontario, who spoke about making sure this year of Hakhel is spent fulfilling the Rebbe’s directives about the special year. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Raskin, Director of Chabad Cot S. Luc, spoke about making good resolutions for the upcoing year, and participants filled out “Hakhel Cards,” on their hachlatos.
A special children’s program was led by Tzvi Hershkowitz, on the theme of Hakhel.
The formal program was followed by a Chasidic Farbrengen led by Rabbi Gurkov which went on into the night.
