Most people know of the sacrifice that Shluchim make to share the Rebbe’s vision with the world.
Living in far off cities and remote towns, these families spend their lives teaching Judasim and leading communities around the world.
But few are aware of how much the Rebbe invested to make it less of a sacrifice.
During a farbrengen in 5746 (1986), the Rebbe asked that a central organization be established where every Shliach can turn to for help.
As the only organization established at the request of the Rebbe specifically to serve the needs of Shluchim worldwide, for the last 28 years the Shluchim Office has been serving the Rebbe’s Army.
To date, thousands of children of shluchim across the globe depend on the programs of The Shluchim Office. Many of them are in far off and remote towns, with no friends like themselves.
In 2005, the Shluchim Office launched the Online School with 35 children. Today, thanks to the kind generosity of Lilian and Mayer Nigri, more than 900 children of Shluchim are enrolled.
The establishment of the online school saves Shluchim the heartache of having to send their kids away from home at a young age or having to spend valuable time home schooling them on their own.
The school has also revolutionized the way young couples think before they move out on shlichus. While years ago it would be more difficult to move to a remote city because of the worry of Chinuch, today young couples are more comfortable to go further because they know they can rely on the online school, as well as the Shluchim Offfice programs Chinuch Yaldei Hashluchim and the yearly Kinus Camp.
Beginning tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12 PM, the Shluchim Office will embark on an ambitious fundraising campaign to raise $1 million to support their programs for Shluchim and their children.
Generous donors have agreed to match all donations for 24 hours, up to $1 million. But it’s all or nothing – if the entire amount isn’t raised, the funds will not be donated.

To me the Shluchim online school is not just another Educational Institution – its simply a lifeline to Shluchim – I can literally say our entire Shlichus is different and so much more joyful thanks to this incredible gift

To the Shluchim Online School: From a Shlucha living in a far out place. Where I experienced the pain and tears of sending off my 9 and 10 year old 3000 miles away. The nights and hours of phone calls, the worries that kept me from doing my Shlichus with an easy heart.
