it did say ‘Russia”, not Ukraine. I assume they are talking about the modern map and not the old Soviet Union one.

Backslapping (going on here) aside, the “largest massacre” description seems to be erroneous, unless Ukraine is excluded (Berdichev 30,000 erv Succos; Zhitomer also 30K on 27th Elul; Vinnitza28K on Rosh Hashana.. All in Kantor’s Codex History.)
