New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by a grand jury on charges connected to a federal probe that has shaken his administration, sources told the New York Post.
Adams will surrender to authorities early next week, sources said.
“I always knew that if I stood my ground for New Yorkers that I would be a target — and a target I became,” Adams said in a statement to The Post. “If I am charged, I am innocent, and I will fight this with every ounce of my strength and spirit.”
Details about the exact accusations remained unclear, but are believed to be connected to allegations of the Turkish government illegally funneling money into his mayoral campaign in exchange for approval of the Turkish consulate in Manhattan, according to sources.

If Adams steps down, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams would become acting mayor.
The special election would only be set if it’s 90 days before the upcoming primary election that’s on June 24, 2025, an election lawyer told The Post.

He appointed an openly antisemitic woman (Linda Tigani) into his administration and refused to fire her after it all came out. She runs the city’s equity initiatives too. Not a friend to Jews that’s for sure!

He is a friend to who whoever gives him money for a photo op.
