A kosher room called “Wellcome House” was inaugurated at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital in Weston, Florida, home to over 240 of the world’s top physicians and specialists representing 40 specialties.
It is the newest initiative of Chabad of Weston in partnership with Cleveland Clinic and will be available for Jewish patients and their families as they spend time healing and getting medical treatment in the hospital.
Rabbi Yisroel Spalter saw it as one less thing for Jewish patients to worry about. “We are confident that the patients and their families will be able to devote all their energy to healing rather than worrying where they will get a kosher lunch or dinner,” he said.
The room is stocked with an extensive array of kosher food available 24/7 for every Jew who wants and needs kosher food.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by the President of Cleveland Clinic Weston, Dr. Scott Ross, Mayor of Weston Peggy Brown, and close to 100 staff and guests.
“The energy was palpable, and I have no doubt that this is only the beginning of much more to come,” Rabbi Spalter said.
The Wellcome House also offers Shabbos meals and other assistance for patients and their families who travel to Weston from all over the world for medical treatment. Future plans include the building of The Wellcome House Suites, which will offer a home-like environment for those traveling to care for their loved ones who are being treated at the Weston Hospital.

For over ten years I have had surgeries and many procedures at Cleveland Clinic. In-patient overnight stays can sometimes extend for days, with families and friends offering support and comfort. My family has had to arrange simple meals and snacks for me and deliver every day.(frozen kosher meals are pretty inedible). Thanks to Rabbi Spalter and the dedicated staff at Cleveland Clinic the Kosher Pantry is the most wonderful way to show chessed and it is a tremendous Kiddush Hashem. May all those in need be healed by the Rofeh Cholim….
May u never need this resource ever again ❤️
