The IDF announced on Monday and Tuesday the deaths of 6 soldiers killed amidst the fighting in Gaza, and the death of a soldier from a Hezbollah rocket attack in the north, bringing the IDF’s ground operation death toll to 162 and 495 since October 7th.
The slain soldiers were identified as:
– Staff sergeant Elisha Yehonatan Lober, 24, from Yitzhar. He was the third grandson of Rabbi Shmuel Yaniv to be killed this year. He left behind his pregnant wife and baby, his parents and eight siblings. He was a first cousin to Hillel and Yigal Yaniv who were murdered in a terror attack in Huwara in February.
– Sergeant first class Yosef Gitarts, 25, from Tel Aviv.
– Master Sgt. (res.) Maor Lavi, 33, of the Bislamach Brigade’s 450th Battalion, from Susya.
– Cpt. Shay Shamriz, 26, a company commander in the Nahal Brigade’s 931st Battalion, from Merkaz Shapira.
– Cpt. (res.) Shaul Greenglick 26, of the Nahal Brigade’s 931st Battalion, from Raanana.
– Master Sergeant (res.) Nitai Meisels, 30, was killed in battle in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, two soldiers were seriously injured in battle in the southern Gaza Strip.
Later on Tuesday, the IDF announced the death of Staff Sgt. Daniel Nachmani, 21, from Kfar Saba, of the 188th Armored Brigade’s 71st Battalion. He succumbed to his wounds from a Hezbollah rocket attack on northern Israel on Friday.
My heart breaks when I see these updates of our holy children who have been killed defending our home. Hashem, Rachaim!!
