Founded in 1971 at the direct initiative of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in honor of his esteemed mother, Rebbetzin Chana OBM, Ohel Chana has proudly stood as one of the earliest Chabad seminaries devoted to the advanced education of women. The Rebbe’s profound interest in the seminary’s development, marked by regular inquiries into the welfare and progress of its students, underscored a deep commitment to their intellectual and spiritual growth. Since then, Ohel Chana has remained proudly dedicated to the continuation of the Chassidishe legacy of its founder.
Now under the new leadership of Director Mrs. Rivkah Groner, a dedicated Shluchah of the Rebbe in Melbourne, Australia, and Principal Mrs. Miri Loebenstein, an expert educator, Ohel Chana has undergone a revitalization.
The program has been redesigned to encompass a rigorous curriculum aimed at nurturing resilient, spiritually committed, and knowledgeable Jewish leaders. Students accepted into Ohel Chana should be prepared for a year of serious learning and personal growth. Ohel Chana students take an active role in the community, particularly with Beth Rivkah girls and their families, as leaders for the Bnos Chabad Programs and as individual role models. The program consists of a full learning day, combined with Shlichus responsibilities and opportunities, and is complemented by a spectrum of co-curricular weekly Farbrengens, events and initiatives under the direction of the informal programs coordinator Mrs. Rivky Gopin, which contribute to the overall Chassidishe, growth-minded atmosphere.
At Ohel Chana, every student is valued, care for, and personally invested in. The seminary boasts outstanding dormitory facilities, a beautifully designed learning center, and indulges students with delicious, personalised meals, exciting trips, and enriching experiences.
Registration for the forthcoming seminary year has opened, marking the commencement of applications for the highly anticipated 5785 Academic year.
