Israeli forces have launched a second night of military operations in the Arab city of Jenin, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 individuals aged between 16 and 23, with around 100 others injured.
Palestinian officials reported that thousands of residents fled their homes in the refugee camp, where essential services such as electricity and water had been severely impacted.
In a joint statement released on Tuesday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed that they conducted overnight “counter-terrorism activities in Jenin and Jenin Camp” with intelligence support from the Israel Securities Authority (ISA) and Israel Border Police.
Meanwhile, a separate car-ramming and stabbing terror attack occurred in Tel Aviv, leaving eight people injured.
The Israeli military operation in Jenin continued on Tuesday morning, as IDF forces searched for 10 primary targets still at large within the Jenin refugee camp.
According to the IDF, approximately 120 individuals connected to terror operations have been detained thus far.
IDF chief spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated on Twitter that their operations in the Jenin camp have encompassed every area, including the central region.
He emphasized that the IDF has conducted numerous raids, ambushes, and targeted the destruction of laboratories and explosives. Hagari also stressed that, thus far, no non-combatants have been killed, as women and children were allowed to leave the camp voluntarily.
Videos from Tuesday morning reveal the extensive damage in Jenin, including torn-up streets, attributed to the IDF’s efforts to disarm improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The IDF announced that it located and neutralized an underground storage facility for explosive devices in the heart of the Jenin Camp.
Additionally, IDF soldiers discovered and dismantled two operational situation rooms used by terrorist organizations in the area.
The IDF also seized weapons, explosives, and military equipment in Jenin and successfully neutralized a grenade launcher.
According to military sources, this operation in Jenin marks the largest military intervention in the occupied West Bank city in over two decades.
The IDF’s objective is to strike at terrorist infrastructure, utilizing drones for approximately ten airstrikes and deploying hundreds of soldiers to target a militant “command and control” center, as well as weapons and explosive manufacturing sites. The IDF aims to dismantle Jenin as a perceived “safe haven” for militants.
