In preparation for next year’s Kolel curriculum, which includes the study of the laws of divorce, the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau visited the Kolel L’horaah Ma’asis of Crown Heights, and delivered an in-depth Shiur about forced Gittin.
The Chief Rabbi’s lively Shiur, which lasted 45 minutes, covered the topic from the Posuk in Torah until the Teshuvos of the Acharonim, interspersed with episodes and facts from the Israeli Beth Din.
Later that afternoon, in a conversation with the Rosh Kolel Rabbi Sholom Shuchat, Rabbi Lau’s assistant related that after the Shiur Rabbi Lau expressed his great satisfaction from the Shiur he gave at the Kolel, stating that it was the most enjoyable Shiur he gave during his time in New York.
The Kolel, directed by Rabbi Yosef Greenwald (Menahel), Rabbi Sholom Shuchat (Rosh Kolel) and Rabbi Shraga Homnick (Sgan Rosh Kolel) would like to thank Rabbi Shraga Crombie from Lema’an Yilmedu for arranging this Shiur for the Kolel.
