As is every year, the Tomchei Temimim of Morristown – Rabbinical College of America celebrated their annual Chag Hasiyum last week.
The yeshiva in Morristown has an incredible annual Mivtza Torah, this year since Gittin was short they actually did 2 Mesechtas, including completing Mesechtas Temurah, and they were tested on both, successfully.
Some 30 bochurim completed it this year and they celebrated it at this year’s Chag Hasiyum to celebrate their incredible milestone and accomplishment. This also included celebrating the Talmidim in Rabbi Ganz’s Halacha B’iyun Shiur. Rabbi Gancz addressed the bochurim, and then distributed awards to each participant in the program; they finished learning about Hatmana and Bishul.
There was a beautiful Siyum that also acknowledged Rabbi Lerman’s classes that taught many Mesechtas throughout the year.
The event was MC’d by Rabbi Chaim Shapiro, who mentioned a letter from the Rebbe that was sent to the Cheder for a Chag Hasiyum in Tuf Shin Nun Aleph. The Rebbe says that a Siyum is also really a Haschala for Hasmada and Hakdamus for Avodas Tefilah.
Bochur Yossi Hecht Chazzared a Sicha from the Rebbe.
The next speaker was Rabbi Moshe Herson, Dean of the Rabbinical College of America and a member of Agudas Chasidei Chabad, who related his memories of the Rebbe. Rabbi Herson told some very interesting stories of the Rebbe pertaining to the building of the Yeshiva. After which, Shnuer Zalman Rapaport made the Siyum on Mesechta Gitten, followed by Mendel Pinson who made a Siyum on Mesechtas Temurah.
The event was also attended by R’ Shloimy Greenwald, an alumnus and supporter of the Yeshiva, who generously sponsored for a number of years the prizes for the Mivtza Torah. The Yeshiva would also like to thank Rabbi Yehoshua Dubinsky from Morristown, a longtime supporter of the Yeshiva’s efforts, who was also a partial sponsor this year.
Afterwards Rabbi Greenwald addressed the crowd and gave Chizuk to the Bochurim. Then Rabbi Spalter, who runs the Mivtza Torah every year, spoke, and then Rabbi Ganz gave a short Dvar Torah as the awards were then given out.
This celebration at Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim of Morristown marked a conclusion of many highly successful programs that heightened the limmud haTorah in the Yeshiva over the past year.
