Today we find ourselves witnessing the severe harm that fire can bring.
Fire destroys.
But that same power can alternatively warm, inspire, and ignite for the good.
The Rebbe points out that Neshek – acronym for Neiros Shabbos Kodesh – means weapon in Hebrew. The flame of Shabbos candles is our weapon through which we conquer the world with the light of Torah and Mitzvos.
Brush Hour is an organization that channels youth leadership to bring the beauty of Shabbos candles to teens around the world. Through art, girls of all ages forge connections with each other and tap into their identity as proud Jews. The impact of each event reaches far beyond the girls who attend; spreading much like wildfire.
This Sunday, Brush Hour is hosting a once-in-a-lifetime art gallery, showcasing artwork created by Brush Hour participants and leaders.
The event will feature 8 spotlight artists who have created unique pieces commissioned exclusively for this display.
All women, girls, and children of the Crown Heights community are invited to attend and be inspired by this beautiful exhibition. Refreshments and souvenirs will be offered, along with opportunities to join the forces of Jewish women changing the world.
Come support and learn from high school girls who are using their gifts to inspire others.
