At a moving ceremony in the plaza of the 770 building in the central Israeli village of Kfar Chabad, the Lev Chabad organization unveiled a new service: an ambulette for disabled people in need of transportation for medical services.
Lev Chabad is Tzeirei Chabad in Israel’s department servicing hospitals and medical needs. The ambulette was dedicated by R’ Menachem and Dini Gurevitch of Crown Heights.
It was dedicated in memory of his father, Rabbi Shmuel Gershon Nissan Gurevitch OBM, the legendary director of the Kfar Chabad Talmud Torah on the day of his yahrtzeit. It was also dedicated in memory of his son (and Menachem’s brother) Rabbi Chaim Gurevitch OBM, director of development for Colel Chabad.
The unveiling was done by the brothers, R’ Elimelech Gurevitch, R’ Yosef Yitzchak Gurevitch, and Menachem Gurevitch.
Present at the ceremony were Kfar Chabad Rabbi Meir Ashkenazi, Deputy Head of the Sdot Dan Regional Council Binyomin Lifshitz and Chairman of Vaad Kfar Chabad Shimon Rabinovitch, and others.
The director of Lev Chabad, Rabbi Levi Mendelson, highlighted the importance of interpersonal acts of kindness, particularly during the period of Sefirah. After words of blessing from Rabbi Ashkenazi and Choni Marozov on behalf of the Gurevitch family.
