During these times of tense and difficult security situations, Chabad Chassidim from Kfar Chabad made sure to strengthen the security forces at army and police bases through the Mivtza Matzah, Matzah tours in Kfar Chabad, and a Seder Night with lots of Ahavat Yisrael at the Rebbe’s request.
Starting on Rosh Chodesh Nissan, delegations from the IDF and police in the central region of the country arrived at Kfar Chabad one after the other to receive the holiday blessing from Chabad and receive, for each soldier, a set of three handmade round Matzahs from Kfar Chabad along with the Haggadah for the Seder Night. This has been a tradition for many years, where representatives of the units leave all their duties at the bases and come to receive thousands of handmade Shmura Matzahs.
This Mivtza was in addition to the Matzah Tours project in collaboration with the Matzah bakery in Kfar Chabad of the shliach Rabbi Meir Stambler where hundreds of soldiers and police officers were hosted for experiential and Hasidic Passover tours.
The security forces would like to thank Chabad for their tremendous contribution with a smiling face, especially in these difficult times for Am Yisrael.
The Mivtza Matzah project succeeded beyond expectations, thanks in large part to the generous contribution of the Borovsky family from Kfar Chabad in memory of their father, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak ben Rabbi Meir z”l, whose yahrzeit falls on chof Nissan, and with the kindness of Rabbi Menachem Gurevitch in memory of his brother, Rabbi Chaim ben Rabbi Shmuel Gershon Nissan z”l, who died while fulfilling his duty in Mivtza Matzah on Gimmel Nissan.
