New South Wales (NSW), Australia’s largest state with Sydney as the state capital, voted and gave an overwhelming victory to Chris Minns to head a Labour majority government ousting the Liberals who were in power for 12 years.
Both parties have worked closely with the Jewish community and Minns specifically made a recent campaign stop to hear about Chabad’s work.
Minns and his leadership team visited ‘Our Big Kitchen’ (OBK) to better understand the charitable work being done by Rabbi Dovid and Laya Slavin with OBK staff and volunteers.
Together, they took part in preparing food and packing it to feed the hungry, adults and children alike.
“Mr. Minns took a very serious interest in all facets of the work we do,” Rabbi Slavin commented.
