The ice cream factories in the country worked overtime this week and produced tens of thousands of dairy ice creams, which will be distributed to Jewish children, in honor of the Shavuos holiday, which will be celebrated in the upcoming days.
The ice cream is being distributed to children as part of festive events arranged for them by the rabbis of the communities and the Rebbe’s Shluchim at gatherings in honor of Shavuos, which is especially associated with dairy products.
Local children also received holiday booklets and other snacks that will gladden their hearts, in the shadow of the gloomy war. At the festivities, the children learn about the Shavuot holiday and its customs.
“The ice creams make them forget the tense atmosphere,” one of the coordinators said.
The ice cream was generously donated by the OU (Orthodox Union) Organization and by Rabbi Yaakov Frankel from the ‘Hatzalah Committee’ of Europe.
The kids enjoy the ice cream – and the parents are not left behind either.
In a special operation, additional food cargos were shipped from Europe to Ukraine, including food and meat products, for Jewish families, to supply for the holiday meals.
