Naomi Zirkind, noted author of books and articles on the application of concepts in Chassidus to life’s challenges, is the host of the podcast “Loving Parenting,” which offers support, encouragement, and guidance for parents.
Zirkind is the author of “Strength and Dignity: Torah Wisdom for Women on their Multitude of Vital Roles,” the children’s book “It’s Also Good”, and the meditations on Chassidic melodies “Chassidic Guided Imagery.”
Aside from being a Chassidic mother, Zirkind is also a research electronics engineer, with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from MIT and several published several technical articles.
The Loving Parenting podcast series offers support, encouragement, and guidance to parents who have challenges in dealing with their children.
“It’s never too late to improve your relationship with your child!” Zirkind says. “The ideas presented in this series can actually help you improve all of your relationships, not only your relationships with your child.”
The underlying theme behind the entire series is Ahavas Yisrael, Zirkind explains.
“The content of the podcast is drawn from Tanya, Pirkei Avos, Tanach, personal experience, and various other sources,” she says.
A new episode is published each week, b’ezras Hashem. Each episode is about 10 minutes long and is packed with useful information. The episodes are short enough so that even busy parents can listen.
A recent episode deals with a key concept: Goal versus Direction in Relationships.
“Don’t try to change your child to fit your mold. Rather, define a direction in which you want the relationship to move, and advance one step at a time in that direction,” Zirkind explains.
