Patient has no family or friends in town? Ahavas Chesed volunteers will visit the hospital to hold a hand that needs holding or listen to a heart that needs to be heard.
Need a ride to a doctor’s appointment or a shuttle from one hospital to another? Ahavas Chesed will always have a driver ready to pick up the need. Their volunteers act as chauffer, friend, and assistant to patients in need of a drive.
Their loving-kindness continues to flow with their comforting hot-meal deliveries and the ongoing at-home medical care that they arrange.
With brotherly compassion, Ahavas Chesed ensures that when a fellow Jew goes through a medical emergency, he does not go through it alone.
At the start of each new year, Rabbi Avraham Lider, founder of Ahavas Chesed, would make his well-known “Yom Kippur Appeal”, asking everyone to partner with him in this life-saving work.
Unfortunately, Rabbi Lider is no longer here to make his appeal. Now, it’s up to us.
