High school moment of silence 1975

I graduated Public High School in 1975. I clearly remember in our first period homeroom class after the morning announcements and Pledge of Allegiance the principal said “now for a moment of silence ”
This was in Winter Park Florida close to Orlando.
Maybe it was discontinued.
Glad to hear it is going to be done again.

Shortly after the Poway shooting, Dennis Prager said that Moment of Silence is something he would support. He has so many projects he is not likely to initiate a project… but if something is ongoing, and someone reaches out to him, he might be able to further the project through his communication skills and many channels.

I devoted & donated a lot of my own time to Moment of Silence in Florida when I was living there in 2014/15. I drove to schools and met with principals and worked with Rabbi Frank. Baruch Hashem for this victory in Florida!!!

After the pledge, the principal said, “Please remain standing for a moment
of silent meditation.”

So, either it was phased out, and the Rebbe revived it, or not the whole
nation was doing it.
