With closures and cancellations of Arts programming due to COVID-19, popular artist, rabbi Yitzchok Moully teamed up with Chabad of Clinton Hill and Pratt institute led by Rabbi Yossi and Chaya Eliav to create a giant interactive mural in Brooklyn’s vibrant Clinton Hill district. The mural is one of 8 menorah murals this Chanukah as part of the Jewish Street Art Festival happening across North America.
The mural features diverse local Jewish community members each holding up a candle representing the branches of the Menorah. Pratt Institute Chaplain and founder of the Organization, Rabbi Simcha Weinstein was depicted as Shamash, the “helper” or “first responder” candle that gives light to the other candles.
The Mural covers a 75X20 foot wall on the busy corner of Classon Ave and Myrtle Ave, adjacent to the Pratt Institute campus.
Street Art has become enormously popular in recent years and each night of Chanukah local artists and community members, as well as students from Pratt art school, lit/painted a new flame on the menorah. The public is invited to make their mark and add their light on the mural following the call to action #ShareYourLight by adding a positive message to the wall.
Hundreds of people have already adorned the wall with messages of light and positivity! Bright markers are available at the wall for everyone to come share their positive messages in a safe and distanced fashion.

Beautiful Chaya and Yossi!
