The new Crown Heights Kolel L’horaah Ma’asis, led by Rosh Kolel Rabbi Sholom Shuchat, Rabbi Shraga Homnick and Rabbi Shlomo Greenwald traveled to Newtown, Pennsylvania to view the framing and pouring of a new Mikvah complex for Chabad of Bucks County.
The new Mikvah, built by local Shluchim Rabbi Yudi Shemtov and Rabbi Aryeh Weinstein, and sponsored by the local community and the Mikvah USA organization, will include a Women’s Mikvah, a Men’s Mikvah and a Keilim Mikvah.
The Yungeleit got a guided tour and Shiur from Rosh Kolel Rabbi Sholom Shuchat, who is also supervising the Mikvah construction on behalf of Rabbi Yosef Feigelstock (Buenos Aires, Argentina), with detailed explanations of the various aspects of practical Mikvah construction, such as the consistency of the cement, the framing of the Mikvah walls, and how to incorporate a Bor Zeri’ah and Bor Hashaka. They also watched the actual pour of the Women’s Mikvah.
Also present was Rabbi Yitzchok Trieger, renowned Mikvah expert and Posek for Mikva USA, who supervised the Mikvah pour and spent time fielding questions from the Kolel Yungeleit.
Rabbi Trieger was impressed with the Yungeleit and the Kolel staff, and agreed to come to the Kolel to give a Shiur in the near future.
