“I feel like their childhood has been stripped away from them,” says Rabbi Tzvi Meislish during an interview where he describes what it’s like for a family to live without a typical mother figure.
He and his wife Chana used to be a normal couple. They both had secure jobs and worked as a team to raise their children. But Chana’s recent birth to their youngest child changed everything; She had a difficult birth which damaged her nervous system and began to suffer from fibromyalgia; A disease that, when severe as in this case, can be cripplingly painful.
Chana has been stuck in bed all day from the pain and has stopped being able to function. No longer can she work or take care of her children. Tzvi has to put more hours into his job than ever and the two older girls in the family, barely even teenagers, had no choice but to step in as a mommy for their little siblings.
Tzvi describes how the family is on the verge of collapsing. From Chana’s expensive treatments to therapy for the suffering children, it is too much for one family to handle. A fund has been opened to help the Meislish family pay for food, clothing, and electricity. Donors can help by clicking here.
