With Chasidim around the world preparing to mark the auspicious day of Gimmel Tammuz this week, the usual preparations are underway.
As every year, Chasidim in communities worldwide have been adding in learning and joining in farbrengens to mark the day of the yartzeit hillula of the Rebbe.
But what is missing this year, sadly, are the preparations for tens of thousands to travel to New York to mark the day at the Rebbe’s gravesite in Queens.
With restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, most are unable to travel to New York to mark the yartzeit together. The usual days spent together at the Ohel, being near the Rebbe as well as uniting with fellow Chasidim, will not take place.
And yet, a special event is being planned to bring some of the same inspiration and achdus to communities worldwide.
Communities around the world will be gathering together online, and then all farbrengens will be uniting at a grand, global online event streamed live from the Rebbe’s Ohel.
The live event – a feat of hi-tech coordination by a team of experts – will join thousands around the world as we mark Gimmel Tammuz together.
The legendary ‘Chanukah Live with the Rebbe’ may have been the last time so many Chassidim of the Rebbe were connected in this manner, organizers say.
“When is the last time Chassidim around the globe had the opportunity to gather together, and in such an interactive and meaningful way? This is now possible thanks to the state of the art technology being used,” they said.
The hour-long program will include special guests and the live reading of a ‘Pan’ letter at the Rebbe’s Ohel.
Chabad niggunim will be led by Chazzan Berel Zucker, who recently lost his wife Raizel OBM. He will be accompanied by an acapella choir of the Rabin brothers in addition to the renowned ‘Pansaim’ choir.
Join the monumental event on Wednesday at 2:45 PM ET, airing live on COLlive.com.
