Rabbi Chaim Shmuel MM Liberow OBM

Rabbi Chaim Shmuel Menachem Mendel Liberow, patriarch of a large Chabad family, passed away on Tuesday, 6 Nissan, 5780 in London, England.

Born on the 6th of Tishrei 1928 to his parents Reb Sadia and Miriam Mariashe Liberow, he was raised in a home permeated with Chassidus. Following his marriage to Dabrusha, daughter of the famed chassid Reb Mendel Futerfas, the young couple settled in Stamford Hill, England where they raised their 11 children.

Reb Mulle, as he was known, worked as a shochet in London.

Over the years, he was quite active in the Rebbe’s mivtzoyim, with a special koch in Mivtza Tefillin even before the Rebbe officially announced it. He also would raise funds for Tzach in Eretz Yisroel.

On the 8th of Elul 1971, his wife Dabrusha was in a tragic accident which claimed her life. On account of the Rebbe’s bracha, her husband survived and merited to see their family grow bli ayin hara by many leaps and bounds with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as Shluchim around the world.

He is also survived by his siblings, Rabbi Sholom Ber Liberow – Brunoy, France, Rabbi Sender Liberow – Manchester, England, Rabbi Zalman Liberow – Antwerp, Belgium and Rebbetzin Freidah Zirkind – Montreal, Canada.
The family has requested not to notify his siblings.
