President Donald Trump has written a letter of encouragement to a class of boys who survived the anti-Semitic shooting attack in Jersey City last December.
The boys wrote to the President, telling him they go to school directly above where the shooting occurred. They thanked President Trump for his “warm and immediate support” for their community following the tragedy, for the visits by delegates of Trump and for the American flag they received from them.
“Our country is not only great, it is the greatest,” they said.
In a response letter to the boys, President Trump wrote, “As a society, we must condemn and confront the vile poison of anti-Semitism everywhere and anywhere it appears. Our nation must come together to combat the scourge of anti-Semitism rising in America and eradicate it from our society.”
Trump also praised the resilience of the community of Jersey City, writing, “despite the tragedies your community has endured, your determination to rebuild so quickly in the wake of these horrific acts embodies the resiliency of the American spirit.
“Your ability to come together as one, during a time of grief, anger and uncertainty is an important reminder that the bonds of faith, family, and country are stronger than any challenge we face.”
Trump concluded, “May G-d bless you, and may your faith continue to guide you and serve as a source of great strength.”
