With little attention given to a birthday cake presented to him, the Rebbe's head choizer R' Yoel Kahn presents a shiur on his 90th birthday to Yeshiva bochurim in the small Zal of 770 Eastern Parkway, Tuesday. Video
As R’ Yoel was about to begin his shiur, a bochur walked in unexpectedly with a small birthday cake. R’ Yoel seemed bemused and somewhat surprised.
Due to the high level of respect for R’ Yoel, the normally stoic atmosphere was broken by the bochrim present chuckling at the gesture.
As for R’ Yoel, he simply proceeded with giving the shiur without making any mention of his birthday.
