Farkash Family Hosts Sukkos Event

Sivan Rahav Meir, renowned Israeli media personality, author and lecturer, was the featured guest speaker at an inspiring event at Chabad of Olympia in Monsey on the first night of Chol Hamoed Sukkos.

Rahav-Meir and her husband, known author Yedidia Meir, visiting the US for a year of Shlichut by the World Mizrachi movement, are spending the Sukkos holiday as guests of Rabbi Dudi and Chani Farkash.

Dudi Farkash leads the Chabad of Olympia Shul in Monsey, an active congregation where every day and especially on Shabbos, close to 100 chassidim of all types join Litvish of all types to daven, farbreng and learn Chassidus.

The congregation has grown so large, that they have expanded for the month of Tishrei, setting up a tent with the help of the Goldberg family, to accommodate the large crowd which attends services. Each night, inspiring farbrengens are held in the Sukkah.

Tuesday evening, a special event was organized by Chabad of Olympia together with Hillel/Chabad of Rockland County Community college, under the leadership of Rabbi Dov Oliver.

Nearly 100 people were in attendance for the lecture, in which Rahav Meir, named one of the 50 most influential Jews in the world by the Jerusalem Post, spoke about being a proud Jew today, telling of her life journey to Yiddishkeit and becoming a Shomer Shabbos Jew.

Later in the evening, the Meirs met with renowned lecturer Rabbi YY Jacobson.
