New year, new Shluchim.
Rabbi Shlomo and Mushky Deitsch (nee Vallas) were announced as the newest Shluchim joining Chabad in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Their arrival was timed for Rosh Hashana and the month of Tishrei when many participate in davening, meals and celebrations.
They join Rabbi Yosef Solomon, Bulgaria’s Chief Rabbi and Head Shliach, who has been leading the local Jewish community and the Jewish tourists.
The new Shluchim, who will be serving the Hebrew speaking community in Sofia, were assisted by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
As an introduction, Rabbis Solomon and Deitsch met with Israel’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Yoram Elron and Consul Yehuda Golan who are also new to the country. They spoke about working with local Israelis and were happy to put on Tefillin in preparation for the new year.
