Former student of Beth Rivkah in Australia here. I believe there is actually a Tanya in Antarctica. Our non jewish PE teacher who loved Judaism and Chabad so much, and was at the school for over 20 years, placed a Tanya in the library in Antarctica while on a trip there some years ago.
This cruise was written up in either AMI or Mishpocha magazines. There were 51 religious Jews and about 90 non Jews on the cruise. They had Daf Yomi and a very fancy catering. It was an interesting article. There were all kinds of frum Jews on the cruise. Very interesting
Chabad of Tidewater is the BEST!! Rabbi AM & Rebbetzin R Margolin, Rabbi L& Rebbetzin R Brashevitzky, & Rabbi Z & Rebbetzin B Margolin – you changed the lives of my family and the lives of many many others. God bless you! Thank you Rabbi & Rebbetzin AM &R for leaving your comfort zone decades ago and moving here to start Chabad of Tidewater – that set somethign huge in motion. Your children follow in your great footsteps.
That’s the kind of man I want as my dentist. Yashar koach!!
they had a minyan, dont worry. he may have missed the hashkamah
Beautiful mitzvah against a beautiful backdrop
What a beautiful moment
Several were printed there already. There was even a minyan and a siyum there recently!
Guess there weren’t enough Penguins for a minyan.
It is actually warmer now in most of Antarctica than it is in New York. It is summer there and temps are in the mid 30s.
No pun intended 🙂
Wow, love this!
What a special photo of a special moment!

It’s summer there now so the weather may actually be warmer than it is in NY!
It is summer there and tens of degrees warmer than much of the continental USA !
Wondering if there has ever been a Tanya printed in that area yet? Perhaps if there’s no village it’s not necessary even possibly?
great photo
Probably the only Tefilen being worn in Antarctica at the moment
Cool thanks for sharing COL
