Mordechi Rot & Yoval Sela – Don’t Give Up
Mordchay Rot, a therapist and author in Israel, has released his second song titled in English “Don’t Give Up.” He composed the lyrics and music and sings it as well alongside musician Yoval Sela.
“I’m not a singer and don’t plan to become one,” says Rot, a Lubavitcher chossid in the city of Lod who founded the organization Alomim – the Chareidi Center for Healthy Living.
He says that he returned home one evening and took his guitar to wind down from a stressful day. “One of the meetings was with a person who had many problems in his life and he said, I don’t believe in myself and in the world,” he recalls.
“I didn’t give up on him and with Hashem’s help, the man decided to give life another try. As I was thinking about him, the words to this songs came up. This song is dedicated to all people in the world that are having a hard time,” he says.
Tzivos Hashem – Unz Di Kinder
A highlight at the Grand Lag BaOmer Parade in Boro Park this year was a song produced by MK Productions for Tzivos Hashem youth organization.
The tune is an old classic Chabad Nigun, and the lyrics are based on various Chazal’s, from the talks of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to children.
Levi Ginsberg wrote the Yiddish lyrics, music was arranged by Zishe Schnitzler and mixed by Ian Freitor. It was recorded at MK Studios, Shevach Studios, Fragish Studios.
Yaakov Shwekey – Musica
Yaakov Shwekey, one of the biggest stars in Jewish music today, is releasing his tenth album in it he mixes varied musical genres with upbeat hits and soulful songs in English, Hebrew, French, Spanish and Yiddish.
a new album produced by himself and Yitzy Waldner. It’s and its songs are as diverse as Shwekey is – English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Spanish.
Titled “Musica,” it was produced by Shwekey in collaboration with the artist Yitzy Waldner and it features prominent musicians in Israel and international music industry: Tamir Tzur, Ravid Kashti, Moshe Laufer, Yan Freitor, Daniel Kapler, Aibi Rotenberg, Avrumi Berko, Moshik Tzabary, and the musical director Rafi Greidi.
“I’m thrilled to launch my tenth album with genres, styles and sound like I’ve never done before,” Shwekey said.
“The album is based on concepts from every Jew’s daily life – we daven every day on Netzach Yisroel – the everlasting Jewish heritage of numerous generations, “Tfila HaShla” – for the children’s education, “Harey At”- the moving moment every couple experiences under the Huppa on the their wedding day, and of course, “Lev Echad” – about the unity of the Jewish people, regardless of their different languages each one speaks… If you feel we are all ‘one heart’, Geulah is coming soon.”
One song included in the album is Aleph Beis Gimmel inspired by the strong emuna of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin while he was incarcerated. In this clip, you are able to hear a sample of each of the new songs.
Avi Miller & Martin Widerker – Bo’i V’shalom
With the Jewish community back into wedding season, singer Avi Miller presents a new tune to the words of “Bo’i V’shalom” from Shabbos davening, set to a melody by composer Meir Martin Widerker.
Miller was joined by the International Yedidim Choir in singing the new song. Musical arrangements were done by Menachem Bristowski.
