It’s back to Shlichus with a new energy for young shluchos from 19 cities and 10 countries as camp for European kids of shluchim in Sweden concludes its winter session.
“You have a tremendous zchus because when you go back from here you will be invigorated – to be a dugma chaya of a bas Chabad and a shlucha,” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, who addressed the banquet via video broadcast.
The camp included exciting trips, winter sports, swimming, activities and inspirational farbrengens and shiurim that are the hallmark of Tzeirei Hashluchos Sweden.
” My favorite parts of camp were the shiurim and Farbrengens,” said Lala Brackman, 12, of Oxford.
“The atmosphere in Tzeirei Hashluchos is electrifying,” says Mushky Wineberg, a counselor in Sweden for the second time. “Watching the young shluchos learn and grow together, enjoying every moment of camp is always inspiring. The ten short days were filled with farbrengens, learning and non stop fun. It’s always hard to leave!”
“The kids came home full of chayus, very focused, as Shluchos, Chassidishe meidelach. The kids poshut came back living with the Rebbe. I think what your camp does for the kids is mamosh hiskashrus amitis, atzmus alein,” said a shliach from England, whose daughters attended the camp.
Over 120 children have attended the camp this summer and winter from 26 countries and 31 cities, including France, Greece, Austria, Spain, Holland, UK, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, Israel, Germany, Finland, Italy, Hungary, USA, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Norway, Belgium, Congo, Ireland, Argentina, Mexico.
Wanted to thank you for making a great camp again!” says Sara Nogradi of Budapest, Hungary, mother of an 8 year old camper. “Chana came back so happy and enthusiastic! She’s planning her birthday, which will be this coming shabbos and she says they’ll do seder nigunim, learn a sicha, etc. Because she needs to be a dugma chaya for her friends.”
Chana says: “In camp I learned how the Rebbe cares about every shlucha and we are so precious and we are our Rebbe’s kids.”
A mother of campers from Russia says thoughtfully: “What is unique about this camp is the setting – the girls feel like they’re in a home. They are really living the life. It’s really a home and one big family. When they come back, they are full of the chayus and fun of camp, yet at the same time there’s something very peaceful about them. Everyone is welcomed into one family . And it’s not just any family – it’s the atmosphere that is given in this family – with true light and chayus and simcha that we all try to base our homes on. In Sweden it’s not something they just hear about. It’s something they live.”
Sosha Bentolila, 14 of Congo, Africa said, “Camp was too good! I learned so much in just a few days of camp, it has no value and has price!”
“I’m so glad that I sent my daughter to Tzeirei Hashluchos in Sweden. It has given her an excitement for Yiddishkeit and stronger feelings for Chassidishe inyanim. She went last year and kept in touch with her counselor who has been an amazing source of comfort and inspiration during very difficult times,” said Bracha Muller of Ilford, England. “Kol hakovod to Rabbi and Mrs. Namdar for running a camp that continues to inspire our girls long after the snow has melted.”
“Camp Gan Yisroel for Tzerei Hashluchim in Sweden is fantastic,” says Rabbi Yitzi Loewenthal of Copenhagen, Denmark. “The children return happy, inspired amd enthused, having spent time with old friends and made some new ones. The unique friendly and caring atmosphere ensures that every child’s individual needs and strengths are catered for, bringing out the child’s best potential.”
Gan Yisroel for European Tzeirei Hashluchim is a project of Chabad Sweden, directed by Rabbi Alexander and Leah Namdar, in partnership with My Shliach of Merkos Suite 302.
Tzeirei Hashluchos Sweden thanks their incredible staff and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky, Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky and Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz of Merkos and My Shliach for their support in caring for the children of Shluchim in the communities around Europe.
“The most valuable part of camp is uniting all these girls who never met before, ” says Rabbi Alexander Namdar, who directs the camp with his wife, Leah. “They become family forever, creating new friendships and strengthening their hiskashrus and commitment to Shlichus to bring Moshiach now!”

Amazing camp. Our daughter came back full of chayus with real changes. In this day and age a camp experince like this is not a luxury. Our kids need the tools to grow up as chassidim and this camp gives it to them in a way different to even the best school. The chayus she came back with reminded me of the chayus i had after spending tishri by the Rebbe.
Thank you Alex and Leah Namdar amazing shluchim of the Rebbe who are giving OUR kids what they need.
