Last Sunday was the annual Montague street fair in Downtown Brooklyn, an event run by the Brooklyn Bridge Parents Association and all the businesses located on Montague Street come out to display their products.
Kiddie Korner, a project of Chabad of Brooklyn Heights, is located on 166 Montague street and was also participating in this huge event.
As a Chabad preschool Shternie Raskin, executive Director, and Sheli Man-Steinberg, educational Director, handed out apples with honey, holiday program flyers, Shabbat program flyers, balloons and face painting by one of their Morahs, Sterna Kalfon.
Children were gathering around the big white tent to try out the Shofars and get balloons. Parents were gathering information for the new school year as well as getting the new Jewish calendars.
Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin soon arrived and started a Tefillin booth and Shofar blowing for the coming and going crowd. Everyone were in awe of the sound of the shofar blowing.
Hundreds of people stopped to look for the mesmerizing sound. It was an unforgettable moment, a hope to the future, the sound of Moshiach!
And all the staff!
