Excerpts from Eli, someone who was in close contact with Aleph during his time in prison:

As you all know I recently got out of prison. I have always known about the tremendous work that aleph does but through my time in prison I had a chance to experience first-hand the incredible work that they do.
It’s one thing to hear about how they organize kosher food for inmates, it’s another thing to be starving in a holding cell and suddenly be given a kosher meal orchestrated by aleph.
It’s one thing to hear about how they care about inmates well-being, it’s another to have no communication while traveling for 48hrs and aleph leaving no stone unturned to find my whereabouts and put my wife at ease.

Even the small things aleph is there for you. Spending countless hours on the phone and email to calm the wives and ensure minor issues are resolved.
It’s one thing to know you’re going to be provided with kosher food, it’s another to have shmurah matzah, kearas, marror and all other pesach needs, lulav, esrog, succah etc etc provided.
Spending time day in and day out with no real yiddishkeit and then to have aleph come down once a month and during the chaggim to provide inspiration and moral support is a shot of light In darkness.
And for those who need it, once a month aleph facilitates a prison wives call for them to gain chizzuk from one another. In order for aleph to be able to continue their monumental work it is crucial for their auction fundraiser to be successful. I can personally attest to the validity of this cause and urge you all to donate In whatever capacity you can.
