Some 200 men, women and children gathered together for a Hakhel Finale on Chai Ellul hosted by the Chabad House, Ilford, Essex, UK for Anash of London.
This was the culmination of Hakhel events hosted by Chabad Houses across London throughout the year, beginning in the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah last year in the Yeshivah Gedola.
Organised by the Hankel committee headed by Mr Getzel Itzinger and his dedicated team, Anash of London was brought together throughout the year for events of unity and Shituf Peulah.
Guest speaker was Rabbi Chaim Miller of NY, who gave an overview of Chai Ellul in its historic perspective, whilst leaving all with a message relevant to todays Anash and Bochurim all part of those assembled.
The event was emceed by Rabbi Odom Brandman of Chabad Buckhurst Hill Essex, and colleague to Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin MBE, Head Shliach for Essex.
Rabbi Sufrin said: “ it was an honour and a privilege to participate in this Achdus event as a finale for this Hakhel year. I made a real effort throughout the year to visit every Chabad House Hakhel event, event if on occasion for a few minutes involving lengthy travel, as the importance of unity was the underlying desire of the Rebbe through Hakhel gatherings. He continued, ”but what now? And suggested that a greater effort is needed to support and encourage shluchim across the country who may well be struggling with nisyoinois not of their making, so that the unity of Hakhel is not an event that now ends, but its effects continue into the New Year of 5777.”
Rabbi Sufrin, concluded by thanking the local community for coming out and participating in this momentous event and thanking, the shluchos to Chabad Essex this year, Tzivia Perlaky & Rachel Safra headed by Head Shlucha Mrs Devorah Sufrin for all their hard work in making this special event.
