She was one of the first women to wear a sheitel in Chicago.
Growing up in Chicago, I knew Mrs. Blachman as a very special lady. My grandmother sat next to her in shul, and Mrs. Blachman would help show her where they were up to in the Siddur or Chumash. She brought up her children to serve Hashem and to serve the community although she did not have family to help or money for extras.
I remember her from my childhood. Boruch dayan emes.

Mrs, Blackman raised a beautiful family. I was privileged to meet her numerous times at The Maple St. Shul and Blachman family functions. Wishing the family comfort and may their continued good deeds be her legacy.
BDE. We will miss her wonderful presence in Lefferts Shul. She was a truly majestic woman!! And she accomplished so much in her life.
