Mrs. Rivkah Dina (Riva) Pewzner, a longtime resident of Crown Heights and wife of R’ Hillel Pewzner OBM, passed away on Sunday, 25, Kislev 5777.
She was 84 and battled cancer for 6 years.
A granddaughter of known Chosid Reb Meir Simcha Chein, she lived with her husband R’ Hillel Ben Dovid Pewzner obm and their three children in Crown Heights for over 50 years and shared a close relationship with the Rebbe via letter correspondence.
She is survived by her three children, Ester Freedman of Edgware, England, Faivish Pewzner of Lawrence, NY and Dr. Mark Pewzner of Brooklyn, NY, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levaya will take place today, Sunday, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 12pm and passing by 770 at 12:45pm.
Shiva will be observed at 420 Sterling Street.

Mincha: 4:15pm

We used to live next door to your parents when we were renting. Such fine parents. She was always so friendly and kind.
Her maiden name was Chein. She is the daughter of Shifra and Faivish Chein

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was a lovely lady and I always enjoyed shopping in the hosiery store when she worked there. She always had a kind word and a warm smile for everyone! May she be a gutte better for your entire family and for all Klal Yisroel!

she was very kind, very smart and very special. for many years she had her Mother, tzotze Shifra AND her mother-in-law, living with her in her apartment. never did you hear a complaint from her. she was a true lady.

We were neighbors on Sterling Street for a time. Such a regal & gracious lady, always perfectly groomed, elegant and always spoke in such a refined manner. So sorry to read this.
