In this week’s Living Torah, the Rebbe speaks about an important Mitzvah mentioned in this week’s Parsha, having children.
When Hashem created Adam and Chava, He blessed them and said: “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the sky and over all the beasts that tread upon the earth.”
The responsibility of parents towards children is not merely to bring them into this world, it is also to give them the tools and ability to then fulfill the remainder of the verse.
